So in my cross stitch community we're doing a mystery stitch-a-long, which means a bunch of us are all sewing a pattern that we're given, one chunk at a time. We don't know what the end result will look like. We were told to choose our own thread colors and background cloth; the color combinations that are resulting are all different and really nifty! Here's mine:
But I had a few different combos I wanted to try, so I ended up making two.
It's been a while since I posted this one. I've done a lot of work on it lately!
The blue Santa is finally finished, lol.
Backstitch and all! The white Santa is getting there, but I got tired of couching... which is, for those not familiar, similar to backstitch but instead of going in and out of the cloth, you tack the thread down to the surface of the sewing with another thread of the same color. Very fiddly, very annoying... but man if it doesn't look good when you're done.
This picture isn't quite current (I've really finished all the brown designs on his robe and started putting some scroll-y things on the hems), but it's close enough.
I've done quite a bit of work on him since the last post!
Somehow his wing was just really easy to work on, ahah.
Somewhat picture-heavy post ^^;
